300. Again

I survived. :-)
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! It was like watching a dream. Historically accurate? Nope. Deep plot? Nope.
A visual feast and pulse-pounding action? You bet!

Oh, goodness. I've got to tell Michelle! How violent is it????
Well, it wasn't as violent as I thought it would be. But that's not to say it isn't violent. There are beheadings and such, and it's not what I'd call PC when it coms to the presentation of that violence. But it's not as violent as say Saving Private Ryan but it's nothing I'd take the kiddies to see either.
And those Spartans: Butler, Wenham, the rest, look amzing in their red cloaks, hoplite helmets and pretty much nothing else. *wink*
And it's, as I said, a visual treat. There are scenes lifted straight from the graphic novel. Amazing job!
My only quibble is it didn't engage me as emotionally as say Gladiator and there's not much of a plot, but all in all I enjoyed it and definitely want to see it again.
I think Michelle will not be disappointed in Gerard's performance. He's both tender and fierce in the movie.
Watched it. Omigod! The Spartans, man, the SPARTANS!
*feels faint*
I'm with you, GB. I felt pretty faint myself!! Go Spartans!
